Social Media Tips
I have to admit, I’m not a huge fan of lead generation via social media channels, but there are advantages to using systems like, Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin. These range from keeping in contact with a customer base to networking with like minded individuals or even giving some personality to a sterile business. It would be fair to say corporate websites are generally boring.
If you want to get the most out of social media here are a few tips. Take advantage of Twellow, basically a twitter directory Communicate with people, don’t be a one way broadcasting channel Re-tweet other people’s posts Have a sense of humour Interact don’t over sell Provide useful information There’s an analogy between people viewing the Internet as a sole platform for making money and businesses viewing social media as an easy route to their target audience.
The truth is the Internet is there for the distribution of information and social media for personal interaction. Yes, you can make money from both, but to do so you need to understand both mechanisms and have a sound strategy.
