SEO Case Studies

It would be fair to say I receive plenty of emails pumping search engine friendly web design, even though we offer our own sevice in search engines friendly design. The one thing missing from all these emails is proof that the system being advertised actually works. If I take my car to the garage I’m fairly confident that they have the necessary skills to fix any problems on my vehicle, for this work I'm happy to part with my hard earned cash. Now when it comes to SEO, people are expected to buy into a service, that at best could be described as vague.

I have not received one email that contains specific information on a system of work and how it has positively improved the ranking of a specific website; of course this could be taken further by offering owners contact details, people who have seen their search engine position rise by the work carried out by the optimisation firm. I would certainly be interested reading how a sites ranking was improved on and the subsequent improvement to the business model. The same could be said of marketing forums, so many people offer tips and advice on SEO, but very few substantiate their theories with case studies. Until this happens how can people who work in the SEO sector be taken seriously?

Of course I’m well aware that SEO providers do not want to share their secrets, but they can be more open with the information they publish, this would certainly go a long way to dispelling the rumours that only snake oil merchants work in the optimisation sector.
