Marketing Balance
There's been a lot of talk recently in the online community about the death of SEO, my answer is simple, what a load of old rubbish. SEO has been undertaking a change for years with emphasis slowly shifting towards contextual issues.
I view Internet marketing as a mathematical equation Marketing Mix V Quality of Product/Strength of Service – (Remember SEO is a solitary process within the marketing mix) Now there's no point having one side of the equation too strong. Examples Good SEO (sound visibility) - substandard service = poor business Good social media presence - poor products = poor business Great service - poor visibility = poor business Great products - poor visibility = poor business Now with a better balance Adequate visibility - sound service = good business Good visibility – fantastic products = great business
The problem is people concentrate on specific elements of their business, rather than getting balance and growing both sides of the equations at the same rate. I see many people talking about SEO and SM yet their core model is weak, pointless. On the flip side there are some great businesses that do not prosper due to the lack of visibility. SEO in its purest form is only worthwhile when all other elements match up. In Conclusion
Do not forsake any single element in favour of another, build at a steady rate and remember all businesses should work around the ethos of continual improvement
