Google Positioning for Optimisation Firms
Over the past few weeks there has been a lot of volatility in Google organic listings, many experts believe this is residual fallout from the much document ‘mayday’ update. Whatever the reason many well established search engine optimisation firms have seen their Google ranking severely affected. Even Bigmouth Media, who have sat at the top for the term search engine optimisation for many years have slipped down to second position.
Business Services UK’s position has been relatively unaffected; we are still hovering around the 25th position for the term search engine optimisation and third for the term business services. Volatility in search engine ranking can negatively affect companies that do not maintain diverse campaigns. Firms that build their core strength from paid links or specific areas that unexpectedly adopt the no-follow attribute can suffer. The lessons are simple, keep adding good quality unique content, make sure on-site optimisation is sound and adopt a good quality diverse link building campaigns. Adhering to these standards will guarantee your ranking does not unexpectedly fall off a cliff.
