Engaging With The Visitor
Is it enough in today’s competitive online environment to sit back and simply display a stereo-typical website?
I would say it isn't, the trouble is what can be done to engage with our visitors.
If we look at a traditional lead generation website, we will see the vast majority displaying lots of nice imagery, compelling content, videos and a sound means of contact but they lack basic engagement. What we want is something that separates us from the pack and makes our visitors stand up and take notice.
This week we designed a quiz on an Agency Workers Directive site (it can be viewed at the bottom of the homepage) this simple tool is perfect as it engages the visitor, it also gets them thinking about their operation and the principles of the directive, at the end of the quiz we’ve produced a clever means of contact. Basically if you would like to discuss your results, you can only do so by providing a suitable means of contact.
Often simplistic systems are ones that provide the best results. Imagine a food production company that needs specific information from the general public, a quiz similar to the one we have produced could be implemented with specific questions. The answers would provide vital data that could supplement traditional market research.
Over the next few months we will be introducing more quiz’s into our client portfolio, we do this because we view visitor engagement as a key element in the development of successful online businesses.
Over the next few years we will be working hard to develop more innovative ideas, the aim will be to separate the businesses we’re involved with from the pack. A crucial element in any competitive arena is to set the standard, not sit back and replicate the work of others.
The Internet gives us the perfect platform to innovate, the question is, are enough people taking advantage?
