Contemplating The Hire of Polish Workers, Read on
This morning I interviewed Chris Slay, the owner of Skills Provision a UK based recruitment company that specialises in the importing of Polish workers to the UK market. I was specifically interested in what Skills Provision do different in comparison to other, mainstream employment agencies. I was intrigued to see why his Polish workers are so well received, when other companies often struggle. Here are his thoughts: The top line is The employer concentrates on what they do best, running the business. We concentrate on what we do best, supplying and managing manpower for a business as long term partners. What this means is No surprises. We work with employers to produce detailed job descriptions, ones that reflect their needs, making sure there's enough detail to smooth over the arrival process. ROI on training investment We structure specific packages with employers, this reduces the likelihood of transitory labour so employers get a return on their investment in training. Improved cost control With our outsourcing service we charge one flat rate on all hours worked. Therefore the employers have full visibility of your hourly costs for any unexpected business opportunity without having to worry about additional labour costs. Lower risk of failure This is far lower if people are brought in from Eastern Europe. They are more committed as they can’t immediately access state support and know if they fail they’ll have to return home.
Those on the temporary employment register are there for a reason, usually negative. They are generally poor quality workers looking for a tick in the box to get government assistance. Hitting the ground running We will advise any employer on any necessary in house preparations that are needed so our people hit the ground running. Welfare We take care of all welfare issues, such as bank accounts, national insurance appointments, registering with a Doctor, obtaining Government registration etc. Accommodation and transport Accommodation and transport are discussed up front we are flexible on the arrangements that are necessary. Thorough vetting All candidates are vetted with two references being taken and an optional police check can be included. Telephone interviews If the positions require good English or are technical we can arrange interviews by phone. Flexible approach We are flexible with our input, this usually means the employers manage at work, we manage welfare out of work.
I would like to thanks Chris for taking the time to explain his business model. The facts are, all employers using the services of Skills Provision are very happy, this validates his business model perfectly.
