Business Forums, Good or Bad?

In this article I will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of being a regular poster on a business forum. In the early days of an online venture we can often feel isolated and daunted by the prospect going it alone, this is where business forums are beneficial, they provide us with valuable information and allow us to discuss relevant topics with like minded individuals, other benefits include the potential of sourcing clients as well finding service providers that may needed in the future. With so many positives are there any negatives Social media platforms can be addictive, even ones related to business, look how much time an employer loses to Facebook, a trend set to rise in the future.

The other disadvantage of a business forum is it can give the perception that a person is running a one man band enterprise. If we look more specifically at the marketing sector, how many people post on a business forum that we should be doing this and that but they themselves have limited visibility on the net, without the forum they would be lost. If we cannot live without business forums we should consider maximising our position, we can do this by utilising our constructive posts.

This can be done by expanding on the post and uploading it to our website. There will always be huge benefits in adding good quality unique content to our website, it really is the foundation of a successful online venture. I personally feel business forums are counterproductive once a venture is self sustainable we should move on and use our time more wisely.
