Building Links

By now you know that, in order for your business's website to be successful it needs to have both incoming and outgoing links. Why are these important and how do you build them? Incoming Links Incoming links are important because they act as a sort of endorsement from the owners of other websites and businesses (unless, of course, the link is in the middle of an unfavourable review of you, but we won't talk about that in this article).

When a business puts a link to you on its website, it serves as a "we have faith in this website and will align ourselves with it." It falls in line with the old saying "you are judged by the company you keep." This is also why you want to be a bit picky when deciding which links to include on your own website. Getting Links The easiest way to get links to your site is to link to other sites! While there are probably articles out there that advocate contacting webmasters and asking for reciprocal link exchanges, the best way to build true links to your site is to link, in good faith, to other sites. These sites will see your site in their referrals and are likely to both visit your site and link back to you! Links are very important on the internet. They both build your reputation and your authority.
