A Sound Investment for your Children
I am sure everyone is fully aware; the technological age is here to stay. The use of computers will grow and grow from every household having one to every individual owning a computer. If you were asked to list a few commodities that raised in value over time, I wonder how many people would list a domain name or website.
This has come about by Googles change in the policy of adding more value on older websites. The thinking behind it change is, longer established websites are more likely to provide genuine services or information than newer ones. I believe this policy will continue in the future. Many people invest money for their children’s future, however they should consider purchasing them a domain name and pay for a simple website to be developed. As your child moves into the dreaded teenage years they should then be allowed to add their own content to the site, even if it’s about Star Trek or Doctor Who. When your child becomes 16 or 17 it would then be a good idea to introduce them to the dark art of SEO.
As bizarre as it seems there will be great benefit to this strategy if your children grow up to have an interest in the World Wide Web. They will be in possession of a website that has been established for over 10 years, literally gold dust. If your children grow up to have no interest in computers, you will have no problems selling a website that has been active for a long period of time. So next birthday time you know exactly what to buy your kids. I am sure they will not be impressed but in time it really could be the best investment you ever made, the other advantage is your children won’t be able to break or lose this present.
