The Pen is mightier than the sword

I have a meeting with Business Link today to discuss a fairly small funding application.
I will be quizzed by someone who will not understand business in general, my business in particular, who will have never achieved anything in business and who is probably looking for a job.

..and, as someone about to go through the same process for/with a client, I understand that the real wrap is that at no point in the meeting can you have the rant that will be building up pressure in your brain.

How dare you, some jumped up failure of a human being, have the audacity to challenge me on anything I say, do, think, or am, when you, yourself, are locked in some low paid government junkie admin role, where you job description is to tick boxes and fill out forms.  How very dare you!

An interesting meeting. She would have written anything that I wanted to get the money!

Rather than evaluate if the funding would positively impact my business it was about-how can find a way to give them the money. Disgraceful really. We genuinely ticked all of the boxes and it is for a tiny amount (about £600) but it is still not the way decisions on funding should be made.

It makes me quite angry and it appears that BL is just another soup kitchen  but with money-it doles out to the supposedly needy but really it is just justifying its own existence.

This is exactly the point I was trying to make the other day about funding.  You put it a lot better than I could though.
